In the spreadsheets below, you can view our raw data for the summer season. As of June 10, 2016, summer monitoring has begun. We divide window monitoring into seasons because our methods differ by season. For example, we typically monitor more heavily (3-4 times per week) during the spring and fall, because there are a larger number of birds in the county during migration, which leads to more collisions. In the summer, we typically only monitor 1-2 times per week.

We have also added the following buildings to our monitoring schedule: 

• Washtenaw 14A2 District Courthouse 
• Washtenaw Community College 
• University of Michigan, North Campus

For the latter two locations, we are only monitoring certain buildings; scroll through the spreadsheet below to see which ones. 

We are always accepting volunteers! Surveys typically only take 15-20 minutes at the most, depending on what building you are surveying. Our U of M North Campus monitor is a student who has graciously agreed to survey the buildings at his workplace. We always need more helpers, so please contact washtenawsafepassage@gmail.com if you are interested in working with us.

8 dead birds of 8 species were recorded
3 visual strikes of 2 species were recorded
Confidence of accuracy: very high (within 5, due to mowing)
37 days surveyed / 32 of days not surveyed (53%)

Washtenaw 14a District Court
4 surveys between 31 May - 7 June 2016
~9 birds or parts of birds of ~5 species were recorded (4 fresh)
Confidence of accuracy: very low due to parking lot traffic and walkway foot traffic (~75% disturbed)
